It's So Easy, and Other Lies

So, last Sunday, the cat wanted breakfast REALLY early in the damn morning. I couldn't get back to sleep, so I turn on the ol' boob tube looking for cartoons. On the local news, they're sitting down chatting with Duff McKagan, from Guns and Fucking Roses! He's promoting a book signing later in the day at the Mall of America, a mere 6 miles from my humble abode! I could not pass up this opportunity to meet him.

This book is AWESOME! If you're a fan of G & R, or just enjoy reading about Rock & Roll debauchery, this book is for you.

Book review: Neon Angel, by Cherie Currie

I'm not much of a reader. Why read a book, when you can watch the movie? If I like the movie, then MAYBE I'll read the book. I enjoyed The Runaways movie, so I gave the book a shot. First of all, NOT what I was expecting. A mere 17 out of the 35 chapters were actually about The Runaways. With that being said, it was still very gripping. I'm suprised ( and glad ) that she is even alive and able to write this memoir. A very disturbing tale of drug abuse and addiction. I've always been a huge fan of Cherie Currie the singer, the actress, and now, the person.

Yes, I'm a geek, Part 2

Well, I got the scanner working again, that saved me some dough! When I turned the computer on this evening, the scanner starts making this REALLY annoying non-stop whining noise, red & green lights are flashing on it, so I un-plugged it. Plugged it back in, solid green light on the scan button, and no whine! Scanned a test picture, and it worked, yay!

So anyway, the above pic is just a few of the guitar picks in my collection. One of the best things about collecting guitar picks is, they don't take up very much space. Un-like a lot of the other items that I collect. More on that later.

Yes, I'm a geek!

I collect guitar picks from concerts and shows that I attend. I don't feel so bad about shelling out my hard earned dough to see a band, if I can leave with a 20 cent guitar pick in my pocket. I have picks from Cheap Trick, Joan Jett, L.A. Guns, Green Jelly, Nashville Pussy, and the pride of my collection; Wendy O. Williams. I was going to scan a few of them to show off, but my scanner decided that right now would be a good time to crap out. So listen up rock stars. Before you hit the road, stock up on custom guitar picks, you just might make a geek very happy!

Winter can bite me!

I am sick and tired of all this freakin' snow! Here in Minnesota ( Minne-snowta ) we're having our 3rd snowiest winter EVER, and there's still over 2 months left of this miserable season. It's been giving my old snowblower, and even older back, one helluva workout. After shoveling at work for 8 to 10 hours, I get to go home and shovel some more. I like to joke that I'm gonna tie my snowblower to the roof of my car, and keep driving until someone points and says, "What's that?". C'mon Spring time weather, I'm ready for ya!

Computer Crash

Well, my old Dell desktop is nearing it's 5th Birthday, so to celebrate this up coming milestone, it decided to crash on me. 5 years worth of digital pix and MP3's, GONE! Did I have any of that shit saved to disc? Of course not! I did manage to re-obtain some of my pix though. Down loaded them from my Facebook page. Most of the songs on my Windows Media Player were from my personal CD collection, so all I have to do is rip them all over again. That will be VERY time consuming. Still in the process of re-installing all my software. Most of those discs were kept in my file cabinet, except for the scanner software. Took me a while to find that disc. For some unknown reason, it was on my end table, and not in the file cabinet with everything else.

I believe I'll be going to Best Buy in the near future, to check out their selection of external hard drives.
